When the Whittier Art Association was formed, a plan was made to have the Pico Pico Mansion become the permanentΒ home of the Whittier Art Gallery. The Mansion’s spacious rooms would have accommodated “large visiting exhibits”. The plan did not succeed.

βIn Laguna Beachβ¦the old pavilion was converted to a gallery managed by the artists themselvesβ¦a permanent association has been formed.”

Laguna Beach Art Association members exhibit at the Whittier Womanβs club house. Artists include Anna Hills, Hanson Puthuff, Edgar Payne, Karl Yens, Guy Rose, Sam Hyde Harris, and others.
