Ten nationally-known artists exhibited during the gallery’s 1941-1942 year. There were two member’s competitive exhibits.

Note:  Within the gallery building, there were two galleries, the “large” main floor gallery, reserved for professional artists, and the “small” or “annex” gallery, intended for local or emerging artists. Newspaper articles sometimes refer to The Whittier Art Gallery as the Whittier Art Galleries.
During the Gallery’s 1941-1942 fiscal year, 10 local artists exhibited in the small or “annex” gallery, while professional artists exhibited on the main floor (large) gallery.  The two Competitive Member’s Exhibits were shown on the main floor.
