Clyde Forsythe “one of America’s great desert painters, spoke on “the qualities which make a picture great”.  He is a personal friend of American illustrator, Norman Rockwell.

Mabel Haig had known Clyde Forsythe since 1925 when he came to be the guest speaker at Myron Haig’s retirement banquet. Myron retired after serving 10 years as the Secretary of the Whittier Chamber of Commerce.

Note: Victor Clyde Forsythe entered the comic strip world prior to World War I. He drew a number of comic strips, and created illustrations for New York World and Boys Life Magazine. For a time, he shared a studio with Norman Rockwell.
